Work Package 1
 

Objectives

  • Assure the successful achievement of project objectives on time and within the budget
  • Become the interface between the European Commission and the project partners
  • Promote interactions and synergies with other projects/initiatives
  • Provide activity and management reports
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure best results during the project life-time
  • Preparation of Consortium and Project Committee meetings & reviews
  • Establish and provide the project’s Partner Agreement, the project’s Quality Assurance Plan and ensuring an effective Risk Management
Description of work
Te project management will be under the responsibility of the Project Coordinator, via the Project Manager and will be structured in:

T1.1 Administrative & operational management
This task deals with all the contractual, administrative, financial and technical issues required by the BIS-RTD project. The Project Manager will be responsible for the preparation and scheduling of the Consortium and Project Committee meetings, ensure the effective and efficient use of resources and will work closely with all WP Leaders in order to assure completeness of all technical actions.

T1.2 Reporting to the European Commission
A periodic activity and a financial report will be issued on a six-month basis and presented to the European Commission.

T1.3 Liaising with other external initiatives
The Project coordinator will promote synergies and collaboration with external complementary and similar initiatives, in close collaboration with the European Commission.

T1.4 Partner Agreement, Quality Assurance and Risk Management
The main activities of this task, which is also coordinated by the Project Manager, are to establish a Partner Agreement and a Quality Assurance Plan. This last document will be set up in particular for specifying the procedure for reviewing deliverables prior to delivery to the Commission. This task includes also the risk Management overview: the PM and the PC will monitor the work progress and – if necessary - apply corrective actions to ensure achievement of deliverables.

Milestones and expected result
The expected result of WP1 is the establishment of a financial, organizational and administrative co-ordination framework likely to ensure the smooth implementation of all project activities.
